Darien Music for Youth is a volunteer run 501c3 which has been providing music enrichment in the Darien Schools for more than 50 years. We fund yearly professional music enrichment concerts which are open to the public. In addition, we run our popular poster and digital media contests in all schools each year and offer three merit scholarships to DHS seniors pursuing music study.
Last year, we brought Mark Wood’s Electrify your Symphony to Darien to work and inspire our district string students. In 2022, Dallas Brass rocked the house with our band students. This year, we have a Tenor Bass Showcase concert featuring the Yale Spizzwinks, performances by The Princeton Nassoons and the Simsbury High School Gospel Choir and master classes and a family concert featuring guest clinician Dr. Jeremy Wiggins and the Western Connecticut State University Singers with our Darien Public School choral program on March 27, 2024.
